This approach was selected as it has three significant benefits for Nacala: (1) the opportunities it provides local stakeholders to learn by contributing to the assessment process and engaging in collaborative discussions with other stakeholders; (2) the opportunity to develop an integrated view of biophysical changes in the environment in the context of socio-economic conditions and trends; and(3) the opportunity for those potentially affected by change to be integrally involved in assessing their own vulnerability, exploring how vulnerability is likely to change over time, and identifying and prioritizing appropriate mitigation and/or adaptation strategies and measures. In addition to following the ‘Participatory Vulnerability Assessment’ approach, Nacala agreed to develop the Nacala Risk and Vulnerability Assessment in line with the requirements included in the ICLEI Climate Adaptation Methodology as well as the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy Common Reporting Framework (GCoM Reporting Framework) | 01/20/2022 02:27:05 | ||
