It is especially the surplus of water and extreme weather conditions that are challenges. We aim to address the surplus of water as a resource rather than a problem bearing in mind, that the quality of water must not affect existing clean wetlands and areas of special natural interest. We have high ambitions in finding new and innovative ways of adapting to the climate changes. This is described in the Arbejdsgrundlaget 2018-2021, Green Policy from 2019, the Climate Adaptation Plan 2018, as well as in the spatial plan for the municipality ("Kommuneplan 2017").The municipality is at the forefront in relation to climate adaptation, with significant projects such as the Climate Project Kokkedal and the inter-municipal Usserød Å cooperation sponsored by the European program "Life" and with a prioritized approach to areas at risk of flooding.
