This increase will impact coastal infrastructure, ports, and beaches, leading to flooding during high tides, increased coastal erosion, potential for landslides, and saltwater contamination of freshwater sources. In addition to physical vulnerabilities, many coastal communities also face socioeconomic challenges. For example, the low-lying communities around the Port of Los Angeles are vulnerable becauseof lower per capita income and linguistic isolation, while communities like Venice arevulnerable because of older housing stock and the high percentage of renters. These impacts will have consequences for both residents and the economy. As climate change increases the likelihood of coastal impacts like severe storms, higher sea levels will increase the severity of such events. Sea level rise will increase the population exposed to combined permanent and temporary inundation from coastalflooding. Currently, 0.1 percent of the population (3,406 persons) is estimated to reside in areas that are expectedto be inundated by the 25-cm sea level rise with storm scenario, and 0.24 percent (10,010 persons) reside in areasthat are expected to be inundated by the 150-cm sea level rise with storm scenario.We answered these questions based on our Hazard Mitigation Plan as well as research and different assessments conducted by universities and nonprofits.01/20/2022 02:27:05

A sua deposição é efetuada no Aterro Sanitário do Oeste, da Valorsul. O Aterro Sanitário do Oeste é constituído por duas células diferenciadas de deposição de resíduos, sendo a primeira célula constituída por três alvéolos distintos (Alvéolos 1, 2 e 3) e a segunda célula por dois (Alvéolos 4 e 5). O sistema de impermeabilização na base do aterro é constituído por, de baixo para cima: - camada de solos compactados numa espessura de 0,5 m; - geocompósito bentonítico; - geomembrana em PEAD com espessura de 2 mm; - geotêxtil com função de proteção à geomembrana; - camada drenante (seixo rolado) com espessura de 0,5 m; - geotêxtil com função de filtro.Nos taludes, o geotêxtil e a camada drenante são substituídos por uma geomembrana tipo "Secudrain".A drenagem do biogás produzido no aterro é efetuada por intermédio de drenos verticais e caixas de lixiviados. As caixas de lixiviados, construídas em anéis de betão perfurados, são executadas durante a exploração do aterro, de modo a permitir uma drenagem franca dos lixiviados produzidos no seio da massa de resíduos, e sua condução ao sistema de drenagem de fundo existente. Embora seja este o objetivo principal da sua execução, acabam por funcionar igualmente como drenos de biogás, pelo que em algumas situações estão dotadas de cabeças de captação para ligação à rede de drenagem ativa.A drenagem dos lixiviados produzidos no interior das células do aterro é efetuada através de drenos que os conduzem por gravidade à Estação de Tratamento de Águas Lixiviantes, que inclui uma combinação de um tratamento biológico com um tratamento físico-químico.
