En Renca, este modo tiene mayor prevalencia, llegando a concentrar un 39,07% de los viajes originados. Al analizar el destino de estos viajes, es posible ver que el 97,73% terminan en la misma comuna.El modo bicicleta posee un gran nivel de crecimiento en la Región Metropolitana de Chile, el 2001, en la comuna se originaban 11.834 viajes en el modo bicicleta (SECTRA, 2003) mientras que el 2012 esta cifra sube a 25.384, es decir, un aumento de un 114,5%.Al interior de la comuna se originan 25.384 viajes en bicicleta, lo que es equivalente al 7,55% del total de viajes (SECTRA, 2014). Sin embargo, al contrastar este valor con el porcentaje de infraestructura vial dedicada a la bicicleta (ciclovías) en la comuna (expuesto en la tabla 5), se ve una gran disparidad, donde tan solo 1,10% de la infraestructura vial está dedicada a ciclovías. El transporte público absorbe el 27,3% de los viajes originados en la comuna, solo superado por los desplazamientos realizados a pie (39,07%). Es el medio de transporte más utilizado cuando se trata de viajes hacia otras comunas con un promedio de 63,11 minutos por viaje. Como se observa en la figura 24, estos traslados se concentran en el sector oriente de Renca, particularmente en el sector del Centro Cívico y alrededor de la Ruta 5.Actualmente el sistema de Red Metropolitana de Movilidad (RED) cuenta con cuatro operadores de buses que pasan por Renca: Express, Metbus, Redbus y Vule.En Renca se originan 7.002 viajes en los modos taxi y colectivo en un día laboral normal del 2012. Esto corresponde al 2,15% de la partición modal. El principal destino de estos viajes es al interior de Renca, pero seguido muy de cerca por la comuna de Santiago, la cual atrae un poco más de un tercio de estos viajes.El modo auto concentra el 17,42% de los viajes originados en Renca en un día laboral normal del 2012, es decir, 56.760 viajes.
