Este estudio fue realizado por el Sr. Andy Villalobos Chacón en agosto de 2019 y se denominó, Análisis del Potencial de Escurrimiento en la Microcuenca del Río Tiribí entre el 2005 al 2029 para la Conservación de los Servicios Ecosistémicos de Regulación Hídrica. Se utilizó la herramienta MOLUSCE, la cual fue creada en la Universidad de Clark en Massachutts, Estados Unidos, misma organización que creó el programa IDRISI, el cual ha tenido tanta aceptación y aplicabilidad en la comunidad científica mundial por muchos años. Se puede decir que MOLUSCE llega a convertirse en una versión actualizada y mejorada de IDRISI por parte de la Universidad de Clark enfocada únicamente en la creación de escenario futuros de coberturas o usos de la tierra.Se realizó la estimación del potencial de escurrimiento de los años 2005, 2017 y 2029 de la principal microcuenca hidrográfica que atraviesa al cantón, considerando las inundaciones como uno de los principales riesgos. Se utilizó la información sobre las coberturas de la tierra, el tipo de suelo y las pendientes para la definición de áreas críticas de potencial de escorrentía.Se puede afirmar inicialmente con los resultados obtenidos que el servicio ecosistémico de regulación hídrica se está perdiendo en la microcuenca del río Tiribí y se continuará en su decrecimiento para el año 2029. Se comprobó una pérdida de las capacidades de permeabilidad de la microcuenca, en donde se tuvo una disminución de bosque secundario que pasó de un 38 % a un 35 % entre 2005 al 2017; por el contrario se dio un aumento de uso urbano que pasó de un 32 % a un 41 % para este mismo periodo de análisis.Las áreas que presentan una mayor pérdida del servicio ecosistémico de regulación hídrica en los últimos 12 años fueron identificadas en seis áreas de interés, entre ellas Cerros de la Carpintera y la Zona Protectora Río Tiribí (ZPRT), las cuales se encuentran dentro del cantón de La Unión.El uso urbano es la principal cobertura que afecta directamente al potencial de escurrimiento porque, a pesar de tener suelos con gran capacidad de infiltración y bajas pendientes esto no es relevante si el suelo es impermeabilizado. Se deben implementar políticas inmediatas para contrarestar el desarrollo urbanístico acelerado que se está dando en cantones como: Desamparados, Escazú, Alajuelita, Curridabat y La Unión de Cartago, en donde se promueven además ciudades amurallas las cuales no aprovechan eficientemente el espacio.01/20/2022 02:27:05

This dataset contains all public responses to the CDP-ICLEI 2021 Cities questionnaire. All data included in the dataset is self reported by cities. The reporting platform remains open and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions.
Please note that this dataset exceeds the capacity for Excel. To export the data to Excel, the dataset has been separated into three files. Please follow the links below to access these:
