Since June 2018, about 50,000 customers have received a competitive fixed rate and 100% of their electricity was backed by renewable energy certificate (REC) purchases. The previous aggregation was 50% renewables, with an option to "opt-in" to 100% renewable.2) In June 2008, the City of Cleveland adopted a citywide Advanced Energy Portfolio Standard (AEPS) that ensures that 15% of Cleveland Public Power’s (CPP) energy comes from advanced or renewable sources by 2015, 20% by 2020, and 25% by 2025. CPP exceeded the target and provided about 21% clean electricity in 2018.Also, in 2018, approximately 13% of electricity consumed in Cleveland came from renewable sources, including RECs retired through the City's community aggregation program. 3) City recently received a grant to develop a plan to achieve 100% renewable electricity while ensuring green job growth and reduced energy burden among the city's most vulnerable residents.NOTE: City is currently analyzing the cost of implementation for this action.For all emission reduction activities, the anticipated emissions reductions are for annual emission reductions in the year 2030. These are not cumulative emission reductions up to 2030. This dataset contains all public responses to the CDP-ICLEI 2021 Cities questionnaire. All data included in the dataset is self reported by cities. The reporting platform remains open and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions.
Please note that this dataset exceeds the capacity for Excel. To export the data to Excel, the dataset has been separated into three files. Please follow the links below to access these:
