OpportunitiesCollaboration6.2aPlease provide some key examples of how your city collaborates with business and/or industries in the table below.1Building and InfrastructureProject delivery - Public Private PartnershipVia the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery Scheme, Wandsworth successfully bid for funding from the Government to provide support with energy efficiency and low-carbon heating to low income households in the most energy-inefficient homes. This is separate from the cancelled national Green Vouchers Scheme. The scheme is being delivered through a partnership with a not-for-profit cooperative, Retrofit Works (RW) who are local specialists in retrofits, based in borough. The council handle a majority of the administrative tasks for the scheme. RW contact the interested residents, conduct housing surveys , and talk through the options for what improvements can be done and when. Upon resident decision and agreement, Retrofit Works will arrange delivery of improvements to homes.RW use existing relationships with local contractors and surveyors to gain access for installations, negotiating good prices and providing information to residents. This work provides local jobs to local people and uses Trust Mark accredited contractors only.

OpportunitiesCollaboration6.2aPlease provide some key examples of how your city collaborates with business and/or industries in the table below.2Transport (Mobility)Funding (grants)The council was successful in its bid to the Energy Saving Trust’s E-cargo Bike Grant Fund Local Authority Scheme. The scheme aims to support businesses and organisations to make the switch from delivery vans to help reduce traffic and improve air quality, whilst making solid financial sense. Two council teams, the parks police and the enforcement team, will get bikes as well as three charities, Share Nurseries, Elays Network and Waste Not Want Not Battersea. Local businesses to benefit are Battersea wine bar The Humble Grape, Putney sports shop The Crewroom, gardening and handyperson company Osman O’Connor & Co and the Putney Business Improvement District Positively Putney. They will all own the bikes and use them to replace journeys they would normally make by car or van, such as ‘last mile’ deliveries or collections. They have all agreed to use local bike shops to buy any further equipment they need, or get their bikes maintained. The council will keep a close eye on how they get on and will use their experiences to inspire other local businesses to switch to cargo bikes.Wandsworth council is now developing a shared e-Cargo bike scheme for organisations who are short of storage or would like a trial or support with training and maintenance. The council is working with Peddle My Wheels, which is a local circular economy focused business. Peddle My Wheels rerfurbish and resell second-hand bikes, operate pop-up second hand bike markets, and collaborate with Wandsworth on the cargo bike share scheme using smart technology. The scheme works to make cycling affordable and shareable. Residents can decide to permanently buy their bikes at a discounted price.
