The council handle a majority of the administrative tasks for the scheme. RW contact the interested residents, conduct housing surveys , and talk through the options for what improvements can be done and when. OpportunitiesCollaboration6.2aPlease provide some key examples of how your city collaborates with business and/or industries in the table below.2Transport (Mobility)Funding (grants)The council was successful in its bid to the Energy Saving Trust’s E-cargo Bike Grant Fund Local Authority Scheme. The scheme aims to support businesses and organisations to make the switch from delivery vans to help reduce traffic and improve air quality, whilst making solid financial sense. The scheme involves the purchase of E-cargo bikes for use by businesses and organisations in each borough. The electric cargo bikes will replace journeys previously carried out by vehicles. The work included a project to involve the promotion of scheme to potential clients, assessing applications, selecting equipment, processing purchases, and arranging delivery, along with monitoring and promotion of the scheme in order to showcase e-cargo bike use for local deliveries. The organisations receiving bikes in the borough include:•The Council’s Inspection and Enforcement team•The Council’s Trees team•The Council’s Libraries team•The Tapestry Tapas Bar•TAG Youth Club for Disabled Young People (charity)•Environment Trust•Friends of Heathfield Recreation Ground and Environs•Leigh Gardens•Scent of Blooms•Achieving for Children•Barnes Community Association•Sheen DelicatessenThese organisations are demonstrating that the use of these bikes is both financially sensible as well as reducing traffic and improving environmental impacts. The example will hopefully result in the use of E-cargo bikes being scaled up and more widely adopted across the borough. As part of the Clean Air Villages, the council works in partnership with the Cross River Partnership and 11 other London boroughs to tackle last mile delivery emissions from high streets. In addition it works with Mytown to provide last mile ecargo bike solutions for local residents and shops.
