Since we do not have an actual level target on the other GHGs, I have written the target in a way so that it is possible to see what impact the CO2 target would have on the overall GHG emissions if nothing was done whatsoever in other GHGs. (however, emission reductions in other GHGs happens of course)

In addition, you may add rows to provide details of your sector-specific targets, by providing the base year emissions specific to that target.14Please describe your target. If your country has an NDC and your city’s target is less ambitious than the NDC, please explain why.1Växjö's politically adopted target actually only refers to CO2 emissions (100% reduction until 2030). The information presented above describes what the target would be if it included all GHGs, but having no reduction target on the other GHGs. The result so far includes the other gases. The local target is more ambitious than national and regional targets, but it is not a requirementfor municipalities in Sweden to have climate targets. However, in the Sustainability program there is, except for the target of a fossil fuel free Växjö, also a goal stating that the Citizens of Växjö shall have no negative Climate impact by 2030. That means that also other GHGs are included, even if it is not defined the actual level of negative Climate impact - when is the impact "sustainable". It also opens up for the concept of Climate impact from a consumption perspective.

73560216City of VäxjöSwedenEuropeEmissions Reduction5.2Is your city-wide emissions reduction target(s) conditional on the success of an externality or component of policy outside of your control?0Yes
73660216City of VäxjöSwedenEuropeEmissions Reduction5.2aPlease identify and describe the conditional components of your city-wide emissions reduction target(s).0Since the target is to become a fossil fuel free municipality by 2030 it means that Växjö is depending on others to succeed. Most notably is this within the transport sector, since we can not forbid the Citizens to use fossil fuels. Therefore, the success is also depending on policies introduced by the national governemnt as well as EU, the technical development of non-fossil vehicles, the availability of biofuels. And not at least - a fossil fuel free Aviation. All this means that it is unlikely to actually reach 100 % reduction by 2030, but around 80-85% reduction is actually within the potential. Within the areas we have not direct Control of the development, we cooperate to find solutions, or influence national and European policy makers. Being a member of national and international organisations and networks for Cities helps us influencing national and EU policy makers.
