Each of the 32 states that compose Colombia has limited resources to tackle deforestation however many do mobilize technical and financial resources to reduce deforestation because of its intense consequences in biodiversity, ecosystem services and ancestral knowledge that the diversity of forests represent in Nariño. With the climate change master plan “Nariño acts for climate 2035” we defined projects only for the forest sector in order to reduce deforestation and emissions related to the sector, but until the date there is not a sole target for deforestation in the regional level.
