Emissions - Region-wide3.14Please detail your region-wide electricity consumption, production and imports, and the GHG emissions associated with these activities.5Comments1Electricity consumedProduction: Most of the electric energy used in the state is supplied from the National Grid and a few embedded plantsGrid supply: constitute 100%. A national grid connected power plant is sited in the state. It has a capacity of 560 MW. Embedded Power plants: constitute less than 1%. They are connected to the local grid in islanding mode. Their combined capacity is 26.8 MW 18.4 MW thermal plant at Calabar 1.6 MW thermal plant at Ugep 2.4 MW thermal plant at Obudu 2.8 MW thermal plant at Obudu 1.6MW thermal plant at OgojaThe average grid supply and local supply available is about 100 MW; the average demand is well over 250MWThe supply of energy averages 12 hours in parts of Calabar area and about 4 hours for the other parts of the state with an average of 6 hours (25%) for the whole stateThe power load demand is in excess of1,500 MW given the expansionary industrialopportunities. ref: Ayara, N., Essia, U., and Ubi, P.
