This price also does not include an addional value that is sum up at bill if the generation needed more thermal power than average at that period. There is also a social tariff for low-income families, which also varies according to the amount of electricity consumed. This tariff gives a discount of up to 65% over the normal tariff.http://www.light.com.br/para-residencias/Sua-Conta/composicao-da-tarifa.aspxhttp://www.light.com.br/para-residencias/Sua-Conta/tarifa-social.aspx

11330031176Prefeitura do Rio de JaneiroBrazilLatin America9.0Is your city implementing any retrofit programs addressing existing commercial, residential and/or municipal buildings?3Please provide more detail and/or link to more information about the programs1Retrofit programsThe city government is carrying out works aiming at energy efficiency in several of its buildings, such as the Administrative Headquarters, the Attorney General's Office, schools and municipal daycare centers through calls for Energy Efficiency Programs carried out by the electricity concessionaire that serves the city.Another initiative of the city government was the approval of the New Construction Code, through a complementary law (LC 198/2019), in which the city encourages the conversion (retrofit) of underutilized buildings, granting several benefits to those who do the conversion. , such as: more construction area allowed, smaller minimum areas per unit, possibility of transformation of use, no requirement regarding the minimum number of parking spaces and the size of common areas, among other benefits. In addition, it indicates that all buildings, built or renovated, in the city, should preferably adopt sustainability measures, saving natural resources and energy efficiency technologies. There is also a new program called "Reviver Centro" - Revive Downtown - that intend to sets guidelines for urban and environmental rehabilitation, incentives to conservation and conversion of existing buildings and to the production of residential units at downtown area, an area that was predominantly commercial and services but it lost much of its activities in recent years.
