| 134702 | 44185 | Suwon City | Republic of Korea | East Asia | 14. Water Security | 14.3 | Please select the actions you are taking to reduce the risks to your city’s water security. | 4 | Action description and implementation progress | 1 | In 2009, the Water Circulation Ordinance was enacted, and the Rain Cities project was launched to restore the water circulation system and promote water reuse, and Suwon continues to implement Rain Cities Suwon Season 3. The Rain City project aims to achieve a water self-sufficiency rate of 50% by 2030 through water circulation disorders blocked by permeable floors, small rainwater storage and infiltration facilities in buildings and forests. Suwon recycles 92,000 tons per year through 194 rainwater use facilities such as rainwater saving boxes, rainwater tanks, rainwater sprinklers, and rainwater lubricators, and has installed LID (Low Impact Development) facilities throughout the city to dramatically reduce groundwater pollution. From 2018, we are upgrading the Smart Rain City water business to the next level by linking cutting-edge technologies such as IoT (Big Internet) and Big Data with nature-friendly water circulation systems operating throughout the city. | |||
