This makes the location of the city of Yogyakarta verystrategic. The function of the territory of the city of Yogyakarta is not only as a center for political and administrative services, butalso as a center for economic activities, services, and social culture. Administratively, the city of Yogyakarta consists of 14 sub-districts, 45 sub-districts, 617 neighborhood units (RW),and 2,534 Neighborhood Associations (RT). The city of Yogyakarta has an area of 32.80 km2 or 1.02 percent of the total areaSpecial Region of Yogyakarta. Based on sub-district units, the largest area is Umbulharjo District (8.34km2 or 25,43 percent). Meanwhile, the smallest sub-district area is Pakualaman Subdistrict (0.64km2 or 1.95 percent).The city of Yogyakarta is located in the alluvial plain of Mount Merapi Volcano. The main constituent materialis from the Merapi Volcano material which was sedimentated after going through the Code River, Sungai GajahWong and Winongo River.
