El diagnóstico e identificación de las fuentes de emisión de GEI en el municipio reportadas en este documento corresponden al año 2016, lo que representa un seguimiento del inventario con año base 2014.Los resultados muestran como la categoría Transporte continúa siendo la que genera mayoresemisiones de GEI en la ciudad de Mérida, seguida por la categoría de Energía, y finalmenteDesechos. Si se observa la comparación entre años, tanto en energía y transporte, elporcentaje aumentó, lo cual tiene sentido, ya que la población en la ciudad también aumentóen este período (Fig.3.7). Con respecto a la categoría de Desechos, se observó una disminuciónentre el año 2014 y el 2016. Esto probablemente se deba a que, en el presente inventario, no setomaron en cuenta la incineración y quema a cielo abierto, por falta de información (Fig. 3.8).
