Governance and Data Management1.0Please detail sustainability goals and targets (e.g. GHG reductions) that are incorporated into your city’s master plan and describe how these are addressed in the table below.2Description1The Master Plan of the City (Complementary Law number 111/2011) includes attenuation, mitigation and adaptation to the effects of climate change between the Policy Guidelines for the Environment, which must be carried out by making effective structural actions for the prevention of the damaging effects of climate change. It is the joint responsibility of the agencies linked to the environmental planning and management system to control, reduce or mitigate emissions of greenhouse gases, through multi and intersectorial actions to prevent and adapt the city to the harmful effects of global warming, in accordance with policies and actions of regional and federal governments. Since 2011, the City has a Climate Change and Sustainable Development Law, which establishes goals for GHG emissions reduction and demands planning for adaptation actions. Since 2017 the City has an Undersecretary of Planning and Results Monitoring that contains an Office of Planning, which is developing a new Sustainable Development Plan and Climate Action Plan with C40 support. In 2019 the Program "City for Climate" was instituted by the ordinance nº 46.079. It intends to propose, plan and integrate the execution of actions and projects with a view to low carbon development, mitigating and adapting the impacts of change on the municipal territory, and driving city to carbon neutrality way by the year 2050. And this year, the sustainable development and climate action Plan was launched.
