The site, and fleet operating at the site, is responsible for nearly 4% of DCC’s carbon footprint. The project will install a large (3 MW) solar farm with battery storage to provide zero carbon electricity to electrified fleet vehicles and electrified building heating systems (heat pumps) in refurbished buildings. As the fleet transitions to electric vehicles this project will make the depot a truly low carbon and nearly net zero carbon site. There are others, which are published in our Climate Emergency Action Plan.
