También se ha logrado un importante avance en la promoción del uso de la bicicleta, con la construcción ciclo-rutas y ciclo-parqueaderos y el fomento de la conducción verde a través talleres de conducción eficiente, hospitales verdes y saludables, la estrategia sello de carbono neutro organizacional.Se avanza en el diseño y construcción de la primera granja solar, por parte de EMCALI, este proyecto por parte de Emcali para reforzar el aprovechamiento de la energía solar y permitir que la empresa regrese al mercado de generadores. Se estima una inversión de alrededor de US$20 millones, para lograr una capacidad de 19,9 megavatios y se generaría la energía equivalente para atender a unos 11.000 hogares.Por otra parte, el Distritito de Santiago de Cali cuenta con una POLITICA PUBLICA DE SOBERANIA Y SEGURI DAD ALIMENTARIA Y NUTRICIONAL DEL DISTRITO ESPECIAL DE SANTIAGO DE CALI, adoptada mediante acuerdo Distrital 0470 de 2019 que establece el marco legal, de acción y articulación para contribuir a la garantía de las condiciones de disponibilidad, acceso, consumo, calidad y utilización biológica de los alimentos en la población de Cali, en especial en las comunidades con vulneración del derecho a la alimentación, durante los próximos 10 años, en la cual además se tienen en cuenta aspectos relacionados con la sostenibilidad agroecológica de manera que la producción de alimentos se haga con la menor cantidad de impactos y se redeuzca la huella de carbo e hídrica del Distrito de Santiago de CaliAdicionalmente, el Distrito de Santiago de Cali cuenta con un PLAN DE COBERTURAS VEGETALES – COBERTURAS VEGETALES DE SANTIAGO DE CALI, por medio del cual se espera incrementar la cobertura vegetal y el número de bosques urbanos distritales de manera que se mitiguen los riesgos ambientales y climáticos presentes en las Islas de Calor Urbano identificadas en el Distrito.
