14648544185Suwon CityRepublic of KoreaEast Asia10.12Please indicate if your city currently has any programs or projects to improve air quality.0Suwon City established the ‘2021-2025 Suwon City Fine Dust Management Comprehensive Plan’ with the goal of ‘achieving the annual average ultrafine dust concentration of 17㎍/㎥ or less by 2025’ in September last year. The task of the comprehensive plan consists of 36 sub-projects in four areas: ‘policy basis’, ‘emission reduction’, ‘citizen health protection’, and ‘citizen participation and communication’.In the emission reduction project, a total of 17 tasks are being pursued by dividing emission sources such as transportation, industry, energy, and living by sector. In particular, the budget of 40 billion won this year will be intensively invested in the transportation sector emission reduction project, which includes the largest number of emission sources. It plans to expand the supply of eco-friendly vehicles and expand electric and hydrogen vehicle charging infrastructure to increase demand through improved accessibility. In addition, the number of Grade 5 vehicles in Suwon City decreased by 56.5% compared to 2018 by actively promoting the low-emission project for the early retirement of old diesel vehicles. As a citizen's health protection project, we are promoting a project to support the installation of living-friendly fine dust reduction facilities. We have completed the installation of fine dust reduction facilities such as ventilation systems and air showers in 22 child-use facilities such as elementary schools, and plan to expand the business in the future by monitoring the effect of reducing fine dust.Citizen participation and communication projects include 'fine dust online promotion', 'reinforcement of civic education to strengthen the ability to respond to fine dust', and 'fine dust civic idea creation contest'.
