Adaptation3.0Please describe the main actions you are taking to reduce the risk to, and vulnerability of, your city’s infrastructure, services, citizens, and businesses from climate change as identified in the Climate Hazards section.8Action description and implementation progress2It is a project to install heated chairs for public transportation users in preparation for a cold wave in winter, and the platform with a large number of public transportation users was installed first to increase the use rate and satisfaction of citizens. In addition, for the homeless, we have established a cold wave protection safety net such as self-help, support, emergency services, and medical institutions, and are operating temporary shelters. The damage to residents due to the cold wave was minimized through internal and external insulation of old houses with weak residential environments, and not only support projects, but also policy discussion meetings and talent donations from construction companies were actively promoted to revitalize green buildings.

Climate change adaptation projects such as health and disasters are easier for citizens to experience. In this social environment, awareness of climate change can be raised to improve understanding of climate change mitigation policies. Various educational and public relations activities related to climate change help strengthen citizens' ability and awareness of mitigation and adaptation. In addition, adaptation policies, such as water management and green space expansion, directly affect greenhouse gas reduction.
