Emissions Reduction5.4Describe the anticipated outcomes of the most impactful mitigation actions your city is currently undertaking; the total cost of the action and how much is being funded by the local government.12Action description and implementation progress12Consists in improving the practices of deliveries. Increase the inclusion of environmental clauses promoting the use of clean last-mile modes in all of its delivery contracts between now and 2020. Fluidifying professional parking and encouraging low-carbon road freight. The political will to encourage the development of the fleet of electric vehicles which are more respectful of the environment, has led to planning, in addition to the normal 3 kW charge of the Autolib stations, the deployment of a network of accelerated charging stations (maximum power: 22 kW) accessible to private vehicles. The budget of € 6.68m is financed only through the proceeds of the Climate bond. In 2020, all of the electric charging stations were entrusted to an operator (Total Energie): by the end of 2021, 2,400 electric charging stations, including all of the former Autolib' stations and Belib' stations under a single Belib' service, will be installed to serve Parisians. This network will also be interoperable with all the other networks in the Paris region.https://cdn.paris.fr/paris/2020/01/09/1253320023851dec2f8506f83cfe5289.pdfAnnual report 2019 Paris Climate Action PlanFinancial amounts expressed in euros

Removal diesel vehicules in municipal park from 2020. With this project, the City of Paris aims to deeply transform its sanitation vehicles fleet, moving away from diesel and turning to cleaner power sources. An environmental impact is expected both regarding the improvement of air quality thanks to a measurable reduction of fine particles and through a reduction of GHG emissions. From the launch of this project in 2015, € 49.8 m have already been invested by the City (including diesel vehicles converted to gasoline). The objective is not yet fully achieved (and more difficult to achieve for machinery than for vehicles). In 2020, 36% of the sedan and city car fleet are electric or hybrid vehicles.https://cdn.paris.fr/paris/2020/01/09/1253320023851dec2f8506f83cfe5289.pdfAnnual report 2019 Paris Climate Action PlanFinancial amounts expressed in euros

The City is obliged to collect waste from households, i.e. individuals.Professionals and associations, on the other hand, are responsible for the disposal of their waste. They can use a service provider of their choice (City of Paris or private company). For over 10 years, the City of Paris has been committed to actions to reduce household and similar waste, formalized through various strategic and planning documents. For example its Local waste plan - which aim to reduce 15% of emission due to waste collection. It consists in improving circular economy in particular through the implementation of the "zero waste strategy", which consists of sorting and recycling 100% of the waste that can be sorted and recycled. The total cost amount below corresponds to annual expenditure on household waste collection.Source : Annual reports on the price and quality of the public waste management service in Paris (RPQS)https://cdn.paris.fr/paris/2020/01/09/1253320023851dec2f8506f83cfe5289.pdfAnnual report 2019 Paris Climate Action PlanFinancial amounts expressed in euros

The map identifies and geo-locates cooling places in the capital so that Parisians can take refuge there in case of high heat or heat wave. Green spaces, swimming areas, museums, libraries, churches, ... these places take various forms. Reducing urban heat island effect by creating cooler areas within easy reach of Parisians and users of the area. The development of nature in cities, which specifically includes the creation of green spaces, is a powerful lever for adapting to climate change, as it makes it possible to combat heat islands by cooling the densely built Parisian territory, and to offer permeability and therefore a capacity for soil absorption in the case of heavy rainfall (less risk of flooding). It integrates plants which are beneficial in the fight against greenhouse gases and creates areas for the development of biodiversity (pollinating insects, wildlife).City of Paris has already delivered more than 62 ha of new green spaces during the last 2 terms of office between 2001 and 2014 and has launched an ambitious programme for the creation of 30 ha of additional green spaces open to the general public over the period 2014-2020. The target is reached since 31ha of green spaces has been created in the city since 2014. The City has planted 20,102 additional trees (including 3085 trees in 2020) over the whole territory of Paris between 2014 and 2020, for an estimated amount of €18 M.Currently there are about 1194 of cool islands in Paris.https://cdn.paris.fr/paris/2020/01/09/1253320023851dec2f8506f83cfe5289.pdfAnnual report 2019 Paris Climate Action PlanFinancial amounts expressed in euros

The aim is to find sites - roofs, walls, basements, open spaces - and to offer farmers the opportunity to develop projects directly with Parisians. Thanks to this programme, more than 50 projects have been launched in recent years and just as many are under development. Paris now has more than 31 hectares of agricultural land on its territory (with +20ha deployed since 2014).https://cdn.paris.fr/paris/2020/01/09/1253320023851dec2f8506f83cfe5289.pdfAnnual report 2019 Paris Climate Action PlanFinancial amounts expressed in euros

Curently 3 of 17 arrondissements are collecting bio-waste. Collected twice a week, the contents of these bins are then used to produce compost for Île-de-France farmers or transformed into biogas to run the buses and dump trucks of the City of Paris. Eventually, this collection is destined to be generalized to all boroughs.Since 2010, the City of Paris has been committed to the development of urban composting, by by offering support to individuals and public institutions. In order to expand composting practices, the City of Paris adopted in January 2017 its 2016-2020 Parisian compost plan. 482 composting sites installed in condominiums, with 148 new requests in 2019, i.e. 70% increase compared to 2018. 360 collective composters installed in public public institutions (+51 compared to 2018).https://cdn.paris.fr/paris/2020/01/09/1253320023851dec2f8506f83cfe5289.pdfAnnual report 2019 Paris Climate Action PlanFinancial amounts expressed in euros

AgriParis has been designed as a tool for actors in the agricultural and food sectors in the Paris region, to support and structure the agricultural sector, from production to waste recovery.During the last mandate, the City of Paris adopted a Sustainable Food Strategy that sets the course for a more sustainable, resilient and inclusive territorial food system. The 2015-2020 Sustainable Food Plan has made it possible to increase to 53% the proportion of foodstuffs from sustainable or organic agriculture used to prepare the 30 million meals served annually by Parisian collective catering, including 22 million served in the City's school canteens. For this new mandate, the Mayor of Paris intends to increase this share to 100%.Ultimately, at least 50% of this food will have to come from market gardens and farms located within a 250 kilometer radius of the capital, which the City is committed to supporting within the framework of AgriParis.AgriParis will thus be built with and for local stakeholders. A Multi-stakeholder concertation (Etats-États Généraux de l'Agriculture et de l'Alimentation Durables) will be the basis for a partnership between all stakeholders, to meet the ambitions of the Mayor of Paris and guarantee local actors a fair, regular and sustainable remuneration.https://cdn.paris.fr/paris/2020/01/09/1253320023851dec2f8506f83cfe5289.pdfAnnual report 2019 Paris Climate Action PlanFinancial amounts expressed in euros
