17330154518City of HelsingborgSwedenEurope6. Opportunities6.2aPlease provide some key examples of how your city collaborates with business and/or industries in the table below.3Description of collaboration4Resursens hus, or Resource House, is a concept development project that focuses on recycling and a circular approach. The overall goal is to pave the way for a circular economy with minimal waste. The project is a collaboration between the City of Helsingborg, regional environmental company NSR, and other actors, and it aims to develop a concept together with the residents of the new area Oceanhamnen regarding resource issues. Resursens hus will be home to many different activities. Perhaps a hub where people drop off items for recycling or material recovery? Or a distribution point for online purchases and groceries delivered to the area? Whatever the activity, this will be decided together with those living in the district as their needs drive its design. It’s not just about reducing waste but also preventing waste, through sharing, lending, renting, and leasing. Here we’ll see renovation, repairs, and upcycling become more commonplace. Replacing products with different types of services – such as cleaning, carpentry, and gardening – is another way to reduce consumption. What makes this concept especially suited to Oceanhamnen is the district’s pioneering approach to sewage management with the three pipes circular sewer system. When food waste is handled separately, only the dry waste remains. It’s easier to separate and involves less residual waste. It will be a place for innovative thinking and knowledge.Resursens hus is part of the three-year EU project Interreg CIRC North Sea Region, where Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium will cooperate and share knowledge on how society can transition to a circular economy. A European knowledge base is being created through a series of pilot projects and targeted activities.Resursens hus will be located in Helsingborgs first mobility hub run by the private company Parkhub. The mobility hub will provide Oceanhamnen with a variety of mobility sollutions and will togheter with the operation in Resursens hus be a local node. Construction start is estimated to 2022.

17333254518City of HelsingborgSwedenEurope8.0aPlease provide details of your renewable energy target(s) and how the city plans to meet those targets.11Comment1In 2019, 9.6 GWh of local solar was produced, which corresponds to 0.7 percent of the estimated electricity use in 2035. Electricity from solar panels increase fast in Helsingborg. With the contribution from many different actors the target should be possible to reach. The municipal organisation and municipal companies have made and will continue to make major investments in solar panels . There is also an interest from commercial companies and individuals.
17333354518City of HelsingborgSwedenEurope8.0aPlease provide details of your renewable energy target(s) and how the city plans to meet those targets.11Comment2The production of biogas from food waste will increase due to an increasing population in Helsingborg. Procedures for collecting and preparing food waste for biogas production are being developed. There might also be possibilites of producing biogas from green waste from park management for example. It is important that we use biogas in a good way. There are challenges with the use of local produced biogas related to electrification in the transport sector and cheap imported biogas.
