We’re delighted to announce that in 2017 we’ve seen a ten-fold increase in the number of cities disclosing their activity from six years ago, with a 20-fold increase in the number of climate actions underway. A tipping point is emerging, as cities increasingly recognize sustainability investments as essential to creating jobs and making their cities more attractive places to live and work.

This data is collected through CDP-ICLEI Track. When using this data, please cite both organisations using the following wording: ‘This data was collected in partnership by CDP and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability’.

This dataset contains 2023 data for cities. All data included in the dataset is self reported by cities through the 2023 Cities Questionnaire. Please note that the reporting platform remains open for submissions until the end of the year and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions. Guidance on how to read this dataset is available in the Open Data Portal User Guide (Header Menu > Explore). When using the inventory data for aggregation, comparison and trend analysis, please note that the inventory data is based on non-verified self-reported city inputs. The reported inventory may not include all emission sources within the city boundary.

This is a region-specific dataset for the United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Section (UCLG-MEWA) for 2019. For detailed responses of the cities, please refer to the dataset titled "United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Section (UCLG-MEWA) Summary 17th Sept 2019".

This data asset contains all public responses submitted by cities reporting to CDP-ICLEI Track by December 13th, 2023.

The data is held in an Excel workbook. Clicking on the 'Download' button will cause this file to be downloaded to your machine. The Excel workbook was created through Microsoft Excel for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2301).

The Excel workbook contains multiple tabs. The first tab labelled 'Introduction' provides a brief description of the dataset while the 'Summary Data' contains a list of all cities featured in this dataset. The remaining tabs contain data for each question of the Cities 2023 Questionnaire.
