Cities are leading the transition to a sustainable economy. In 2017 almost 400 cities told CDP about how they are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Explore how cities are working to reduce their climate impact.

In 2016, over 3,000 city-wide mitigation actions were disclosed. Cities are taking action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in cities. Activities are tagged by sector and cities provide detailed descriptions of each activity. Some cities also provide estimates of the total anticipated lifetime emissions that will be reduced from each activity.

This dataset contains 2021 data on cities' emissions reduction actions, as reported by cities through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System in response to question 5.4 in the 2021 CDP Cities questionnaire.
