CDP is working in partnership with The Climate Group to provide the world’s first global platform for states and regions to measure, manage and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions. CDP and The Climate Group are united in their firm belief on the vital role that state and regional governments play in driving climate action and delivering sustainable economies that avoid dangerous climate change and leads to a net-zero emissions world. Use this data to explore GHG emissions from state and regional governments.

Cities house half the world’s population but represent almost two-thirds of global energy demand and 70% of carbon emissions from the energy sector. Therefore, our cities have a vital role to play in the transition to a sustainable economy. This dataset provides information on the electricity, heat, steam and cooling consumed by local governments. The question in the 2017 CDP Questionnaire was as follows: "How much electricity, heat, steam, and cooling (refers to Scope 2 emissions) has your local government purchased for its own consumption during the reporting year?"

Annual city-wide emissions for more than 50 global cities. Includes information about how cities measured emissions (primary protocol), as well as why emissions rose/fell since prior reporting period.

This year, we have invited approximately 2,300 companies to respond to CDP’s water questionnaire through our investor and supply chain initiatives. This data set excludes private responders.

CDP’s forests program targets the largest companies globally, collecting data on their management of deforestation risk through the lens of key agricultural drivers of deforestation (timber, palm oil, soy, cattle products & biofuels). In 2015, 700 companies are requested to respond to the program. The request is issued on behalf of 298 investor signatories with $19 trillion in assets.

Dataset on corporate commitments, standards and targets reported in 2013 related to the key agricultural drivers of deforestation. This dataset excludes private responders.

Please note that not all companies report on all forest risk commodities. This may be due to the company submitting a partial disclosure or because only a limited number of the commodities are relevant to their business.

This dataset contains public responses to the 2020 Cities Questionnaire for cities that cited 'budgetary capacity' as a barrier to adaptation in question 2.2 - 'Please identify and describe the factors that most greatly affect your city’s ability to adapt to climate change and indicate how those factors either support or challenge this ability.'
