CDP is working in partnership with The Climate Group to provide the world’s first global platform for states and regions to measure, manage and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions. Housing 50% of the world’s population, cities are particularly vulnerable to climate change impacts. In 2017, some 380 cities disclosed their adaptation actions through CDP. Explore how these cities are building resilience to environmental impacts.

CDP has created a 'clean & complete dataset' for the 2015 Carbon Action sample of companies - a group of the highest emitting public companies from the most energy-intensive industries. The full dataset covers Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from 2009-2014 and 10 Categories of Scope 3 emissions for the most recent accounting year (excluded from this public dataset). Production involved applying methods for the quality assessment of self-reported data and integration of CSR report data, as well as the development and application of models to estimate emissions for companies that do not report them.

This public dataset represents a subset of industries, companies and years of the full version. All users can interact with estimates and model details. The full dataset is freely available to CDP's investor signatories or can be purchased by others.

Cities are increasingly reporting that they are powered by renewable electricity. CDP holds information from over 570 of the world's cities and over 100 cities are now getting at least 70% of their electricity from renewable sources such as hydro, geothermal, solar and wind.

This dataset has been compiled of data reported by cities in 2015, 2016 and 2017 in response to our annual questionnaire. Cities responded to the question: "Please indicate the energy mix of your electricity consumed at the city-wide scale."
