CDP’s new infographic report ‘Who’s tackling urban water challenges’, produced in partnership with AECOM, the global infrastructure firm, and funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies, shows the first and most comprehensive dataset of global water action by cities and companies produced to date. Using information gathered from 569 cities and 1,432 companies, each reporting their water management activity, it illustrates how global cities and companies are responding to the escalating challenge of climate change and urban population growth.

Cities are leading the transition to a sustainable economy. In 2017 almost 400 cities told CDP about how they are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Explore how cities are working to reduce their climate impact.

CDP is working in partnership with The Climate Group to provide the world’s first global platform for states and regions to measure, manage and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions. CDP and The Climate Group are united in their firm belief on the vital role that state and regional governments play in driving climate action and delivering sustainable economies that avoid dangerous climate change and leads to a net-zero emissions world.

CDP has created a 'clean & complete dataset' for the 2015 Carbon Action sample of companies - a group of the highest emitting public companies from the most energy-intensive industries. The full dataset covers Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from 2009-2014 and 10 Categories of Scope 3 emissions for the most recent accounting year (excluded from this public dataset). Production involved applying methods for the quality assessment of self-reported data and integration of CSR report data, as well as the development and application of models to estimate emissions for companies that do not report them.

This public dataset represents a subset of industries, companies and years of the full version. All users can interact with estimates and model details. The full dataset is freely available to CDP's investor signatories or can be purchased by others.
