This dataset contains responses to Question 6.5 on Projects Seeking Financing in the Cities 2020 Questionnaire which was collected through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System.

In 2016, 397 cities reported that climate change does present an economic opportunity and identified over 1,000 opportunities. 270 of these cities identified the development of new business industries, such as clean tech, as an opportunity.

The dataset contains 2021 data on the impact of COVID-19 on finance available for climate action in cities. The data was reported by cities through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System in response to question 1.7 ("Please provide information specifically on the impact of the COVID-19 economic response on climate action in your city and synergies between COVID-19 recovery interventions and climate action.") in the 2021 Cities questionnaire.
